Where did Praia dos Beijinhos Get its Name?
Praia dos Beijinhos translated in “Kissing Beach”. Due to its location hidden within the cliffs, a small secluded beach it is said to be a Romantic beach.
The Praia dos Beijinhos got its name from the shells that can be found on the beach. They resembled two people kissing, therefore the name “Kissing Beach”
Unfortunately on the day we visited Praia dos Beijinhos Beach we did not find any of these shells. The tide was coming in therefore they are harder to find.
When you do visit this beautiful beach make sure you look out for these “kissing shells”!
Where is Praia do Beijinho?
Praia dos Beijinhos e located in  Alporchinhos, in the Parish of Porches, Lagoa. This beautiful beach adjascent to two luxury resorts Vila Vita and also Do Levante Resort.
Praia do Beijinho lies between two other beaches Praia dos Tremoços and praia dos Abraçinhos ( to the west) and Praia do Val do Olival ( to the East).

Parking Near Vila Vita Parc Resort
- Directions: Head toward the luxurious Vila Vita Parc Resort, located a short drive from Lagoa. Once near the resort, look for nearby public parking areas.
- Parking Location: While the resort itself is private, public parking spots are available along the surrounding roads. From here, Praia dos Beijinhos is accessible via a short walk.Â
- Walking Trail: A well-trodden path leads from the parking area to Praia dos Beijinhos. The walk takes approximately 10–15 minutes and offers lovely views of the Algarve’s natural beauty.

Is Praia dos Beijinhos a Family Friendly Beach?
Praia dos Beijinhos offers calm waters therefore ideal for children to swim and play, always under supervision.
As the beach is small and not known to many people it will not get over crowded like other larger beaches such as Praia do Camilo.
Older children will love exploring the trails on the cliffs overlooking nearby beaches such as Praia dos Abraços and Praia dos Tremoços.
Due to the trails, this beach is not recommended for strollers. as there are steps and also narrow paths. Please keep this in mind of you have babies or very young children in strollers.
In our opinion and experience we can not classify this as a 100% family friendly beach.Â

As the beach is protected by rock forms it can be considered a safe beach to swim as it generally does not have many waves. the beach surface is very flat.
