Yes, there are direct Buses from Albufeira to Praia da Galé Beach.
Which Bus do I catch to Galé Beach from Albufeira?
Bus Nº 8 is the most direct bus.
You will need to catch the bus at the Albufeira Bus Terminal and it will take approximately 27 – 30 minutes on the bus. There are 17 stops you will get out at Salgados Bus Stop ( Stop ID: 908). Walk for 5 minutes (450 meters) to the beach.
Cost will be 2.60 euros each way.
Bus Nº7 is also a Direct bus to the Galé Beach but it will take 36 – 40 minutes with 23 stops before you get out at Galé Bus Stop and walk for 11 minutes (850 meters) to the beach.

The beach is divided into the East Galé beach( Galé Leste) and West Galé beach ( Galé Oeste). Two very different beaches in one beach.
Praia da Galé Leste ( East Galé)
When you face the ocean, Praia da Galé Leste ( East Side of Galé beach) is on your right side. This part of the beach is known for its beautiful rock forms, giving you small cove beaches in between the rocks.
During low tide you can cross over to the nearby beaches of Praia do Chiringuito and also Praia and also Praia do Bés. You have to watch your step as you may need to walk over rocks, it is not a difficult trail and you can take great photos.
Praia da Galé Oeste ( West Galé)
The west Galé beach is a long wide 8km open space beach with no rock forms. The beach stretaches out into the Salgados Beach.
This side of the beach is ideal for watersports, parasailing, and surfing lessons.

Yes, The beach at Galé has lifeguards (Nadador Salvador) on duty from 9 am until 7 pm every day from June to the end of September.
If you need any assistance please find a life guard and ask for help at any time.
You will find life guards on both sides of the beach Galé Leste ( East) and Galé Oeste (West) beaches.

Praia da Galé Parking
Is there free parking at the Galé Beach Albufeira? Yes, This great beach offers free Carparking.
The Praia da Gale Beach has 4 carparks. The first carpark approximately 200 meters from the beach is a tarmac carkpark with line parking spots. As you follow the road to the Galé Beach, couple meters further down the road towards the Leste (East side) you will find two larger carparks. These carparks are dirt track carparks, people just park as they arrive. By mid morning and mid afternoon, you will need to zig zag your way around the carparks to find a space to park or to even get out.
Right next to the beach on the Oeste Side ( West) there is small car park. Even though it is closer to the beach ( 30 meters) it is very limited and you will need to arrive early in the morning to find a spot to park your car.
Even though there are 2 large car parks, during the summer peak season parking can be very limited. We advise you arrive early to guarantee a spot for your car. Try to park in an orderly manner so there is room for everyone.
